Thomas H. Compere, Danville, Arkansas , to Governor Flanagin

Compere entreats Flanagin to use his influence to prevent exorbitant prices from being charged by the local tanner and shoemaker. He complains that Missouri men of conscription age are coming into Arkansas and taking all the jobs and money while families of soldiers suffer. He also wishes Flanagin to give his neighbor, John Lokey, a leave of absence from the army so he can recover from illness. Kie Oldham collection
