Biodex

The biographical index was started by the Arkansas History Commission's first director, Dallas T. Herndon, and has been continuously added to for nearly 100 years. This valuable file provides access to a significant part of the state archives' holdings, including newspaper obituaries, the individual file, the Small Manuscript Collection, and other materials. Biodex, the computerized version of this index is an ongoing work in progress which is being added to regularly. Every effort has been made to provide as specific an identification of the indexed sources as possible.
