SMC (Small Manuscript Collection) refers to manuscript collections that have one or only a few items and are not maintained as single collections. These small collections are placed together in boxes with other separate small collections and microfilmed for public use. They include letters, legal documents, diaries, ledgers, and other manuscript items.
To search the SMC database try to use more common names and subjects such as LITTLE ROCK, or CIVIL WAR. A name search is also possible, such as JONES, MARY.
