The NorthEast Arkansas Regional Archive (NEARA) is located at 11 Seventh Street, adjacent to the Powhatan Historic State Park, in Powhatan, Arkansas. Its research room is open to members of the public wishing to do historical or family research from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday through Saturday, barring state holidays.

Upon arriving in the Research Room, all patrons must sign in. First time visitors will be asked to complete a short registration form, for which a valid driver's license or other current photo identification is required, and will then receive a permanent research number. This number is used on all subsequent visits when signing in or requesting materials.
