| Transcript | An Act Providing for the Administering of Oaths of Office- Section 1st Be it Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, That the Governor shall take the Oath of Office prescribed by the Constitution, before one of the Judges of the Supreme Court; And the Judges of the Supreme, and Circuit Courts, and the Secretary of State before the Governor, or either of the Judges of the Supreme or Circuit Courts; and all other Officers both Civil and Military, before any Judge or Justice of the Peace of this State. Section 2d And be it further enacted, That all officers both Civil and Military, before entering on the discharge of the duties of their respective offices, Shall take an Oath or Affirmation, to support the Constitution of the United States and of this State, and faithfully, to demean themselves in thier respective Offices.
