KNOW YE, That I, GEO. W. HAYS, Governor of the State of Arkansas,
in the name and by the authority of the said State, as vested in me by the laws thereof, reposing special
trust and confidence in the ability and fidelity of
ALTO POOLE
do hereby Appoint and Commission him a Member of the Board of Equalization in and for the County
of SEVIER for and during the unexpired term of
He is, therefore, authorized to do and perform all and singular the duties incumbent upon him
as said Member of the Board of Equalization in and for the County aforesaid, according to law and the
trust reposed in him.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused
the Great Seal of the State to be affixed this 4th day
of SEPTEMBER 1916.

support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, and that I
will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of Member of the Board of Equalization upon which I
am now about to enter.

CLERK OF THE COUNTY COURT
NOTEREAD – The Board of Equalization is composed of three citizens of the county, and is required to meet at the office of the County Clerk on
the first Monday of September in each year. The said Board, when in session, shall have power to hear and to equalize by adding to or taking from the
valuation of all property listed for taxation. Before entering upon the discharge of their duties, the members of the Board are required to take and sub-
scribe the oath endorsed on this Commission. The compensation allowed is three dollars per day for each member for each day engaged in the discharge of
the duties of said office. The office is one of vast importance to the people of not only your own county, but of the State. You have been selected under
the belief that you will discharge the duties imposed by the appointment in an independent and intelligent manner, and it is the earnest desire of the Gov-
ernor that you will not defeat this just expectation by declining to serve.
